Job summary

Opal HealthCare is hiring Pathway Carers across Metro Sydney & Northern Beaches. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience with residents, guided by our clinical team, and a clear pathway to a meaningful aged care career. Training is provided via the Opal HealthCare Academy.

You’ll support daily care activities, build relationships, and develop skills toward a Certificate III in aged care while joining a supportive team in NSW communities.

Qualifications

• Able to work Monday to Friday on AM shifts.
• Compassionate, caring and people-focused by nature.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow direction and work reliably.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Ability to complete pre-employment checks (medical, police, NDIS).

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily care and wellbeing in a respectful manner.
• Foster social connection and quality of life for residents.
• Collaborate with care teams and learn from experienced staff.
• Progress through a structured pathway towards Certificate III in aged care.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and motivated Pathway Carers to join our team across all care communities in Metro Sydney & Northern Beaches of NSW.

This role has been designed as an entry pathway into aged care, providing you with hands-on experience, structured learning and the opportunity to build a meaningful long-term career supporting older Australians.

Working alongside experienced care teams and under the guidance of our clinical team , you'll assist residents with their daily care, wellbeing, social connection and quality of life while developing the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding future in aged care.

No previous aged care experience is required - we'll provide the training, support and career pathway to help you succeed via the Opal HealthCare Academy!

What You’ll Do:

• Support residents with daily living tasks in a safe and respectful way
• Build genuine relationships and provide meaningful social connection
• Work alongside experienced care teams in a supportive setting
• Learn on the job while working towards your Certificate III

You will have:

• The ability to work Monday to Friday on AM morning shift
