Job summary

NSW Health Pathology invites applications for a Permanent Full Time Medical Laboratory Assistant across Blacktown Hospital, Auburn District Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital. You will support timely specimen processing and contribute to accurate patient diagnosis in a fast-paced, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections, or Pathology Assistance, or pathology experience.
• Ability to manage tasks in a demanding environment with competing priorities.
• Effective communication with colleagues and customers.
• Problem solving and analytical skills with data accuracy.
• Willingness to operate pre-analytical equipment.
• Proficient computer skills with high attention to detail.
• Understanding of confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.
• Willingness to rotate a 24/7 shift roster and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pathology specimen reception duties including receiving, triaging, patient registration, and request entry.
• Prepare specimens for transport or delivery to laboratories for timely diagnostic testing.
