Job summary

Healius is recruiting a Laboratory Assistant to support pathology workflows in a busy lab on the Sunshine Coast. You will ensure accurate specimen handling, data entry and timely dispatch to core laboratories, while maintaining compliant records and quality procedures.

Ideal candidates bring a lab or healthcare background and strong attention to detail, with good time management and teamwork. The role offers structured training and opportunities to grow within a leading Australian health network.

Qualifications

• Experience in a lab or healthcare setting is advantageous.
• Certificate in pathology or lab skills is desirable but not essential.
• High accuracy and strong time management are important.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and process specimens with high accuracy.
• Enter and register specimens into laboratory systems.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens within required timeframes.
• Manage inquiries via phone and shared mailboxes, escalating when needed.
• Coordinate urgent specimen handling and courier collections.
• Maintain laboratory records and storage procedures.
• Participate in routine quality activities and follow procedures.
• Follow WHS policies to maintain a safe workplace.
