Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology – Concord NSW is seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our Patient Services Team. You will collect blood and non-blood samples and may conduct basic tests such as ECG and Holter Monitoring in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role offers training and requires at least 20 hours per week on a rotating roster, Sunday through Saturday. You will help ensure samples are accurately labelled and provide clear guidance to patients.

We are seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our vibrant Patient Services Team. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

• Collecting blood and non-blood samples from patients including conducting basic tests such as ECG and Holter Monitoring
• Following strict guidelines and procedures to ensure all samples are accurately labelled
• Guiding patients or caregivers on sampling procedures
• Preparing specimens for transportation to the laboratory

We offer a comprehensive training program suitable for medical/health science students wishing to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment whilst studying. You will learn high quality patient care and valuable clinical skills in a fast paced, flexible working environment.

Ideal candidate

• Is open to working a minimum of 20 hours on a scheduled roster, Monday to Sunday
• Is passionate about healthcare and committed to providing excellent care and service to patients and doctors
• A hard-working, motivated individual with a strong work ethic
• Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High level attention to detail and record keeping skills.

Prior to commencement, all candidates must provide documentary evidence of the following:

• Unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Commitment to annual influenza vaccination.

A National Police Check, Working with Children clearance and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) will be required prior to commencement.

Please note, our program requires a non-negotiable minimum 20 hour per week commitment.
