Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in Sydney's Northern Beaches is seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our Patient Services Team. You will collect blood and non-blood samples from patients and help with basic tests such as ECG and Holter monitoring in a busy clinical setting.

You will follow strict guidelines to ensure accurate labelling, guide patients on sampling procedures, and prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• National Police Check, Working with Children clearance and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) required prior to commencement.
• Minimum 20 hours per week commitment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. Our practice is managed by doctors for doctors and our success is driven by the innate understanding that Medical Leadership facilitates the highest standards of professional and operational excellence for the doctors and patients we serve.

We are seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our vibrant Patient Services Team. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

Collecting blood and non-blood samples from patients including conducting basic tests such as ECG and Holter Monitoring

Following strict guidelines and procedures to ensure all samples are accurately labelled

Guiding patients or caregivers on sampling procedures

Preparing specimens for transportation to the laboratory

We offer a comprehensive training program suitable for medical/health science students wishing to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment whilst studying. You will learn high quality patient care and valuable clinical skills in a fast paced, flexible working environment.

Is open to working a minimum of 20 hours on a scheduled roster, Monday to Sunday.
