Job summary

QML Pathology, part of the Healius network, invites applications for a Pathology Collector. This frontline role involves taking blood samples, collecting specimens and performing basic diagnostic tests while ensuring a positive patient experience.

You will work under a rotating weekly rota, complete a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, and may be a Registered Nurse with venepuncture experience. Training will be provided internally.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collection is required.
• Experience as Pathology Collector or Registered Nurse with venepuncture is acceptable.
• Excellent patient communication and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and manage waiting room while explaining collection procedures.
• Perform venepuncture and collect pathology specimens.
• Conduct diagnostic tests as required (ECG, blood pressure, Holter).
• Maintain accurate patient records and specimen registers.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Manage patient communications and payments where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
