Job summary

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is one of the world’s largest hard-rock underground mining companies with operations across Australia. Barminco is seeking paste crew operators to support underground mining across Western Australia, mixing and placing paste backfill to provide ground support and enable safe, efficient mining.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Paste Crew Operator is essential.
• Extensive experience in underground mining is required.
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's) are required.
• Ability to meet site access requirements including medical, DAS, NPC and a valid Manual Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor paste backfill plant, pumps, and reticulation systems.
• Mix, pump, and pour paste backfill into underground stopes as per plan.
• Install, monitor, and maintain retic and bulkheads.
• Inspect, maintain, and clear paste lines and equipment to prevent blockages.
• Work closely with mining and production teams to meet schedules.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures during paste operations.

About our Role

Join the Barminco team as a Paste Crew member and support our underground mining operations across Australia, with opportunities available at sites throughout Western Australia. In this role, you’ll play a key part in mixing, pumping, and placing paste backfill into underground stopes to provide ground support and enable safe, efficient mining.

What will your day to day look like?

• Operate and monitor paste backfill plant, pumps, and reticulation systems
• Mix, pump, and pour paste backfill into underground stopes as per plan
• Install, monitor, and maintain retic and bulkheads
• Inspect, maintain, and clear paste lines and equipment to prevent blockages
• Work closely with mining and production teams to meet schedules
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures during paste operations

Our ideal candidate background includes
