Downer Group in Queensland seeks a PAS Operations Support Manager to lead cross-site Defence estate services, including upkeep, land management, aerodrome operations and training area management. You will drive performance, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and compliance across sites.

The role requires extensive senior operations and contract-management experience, strong budgeting skills, and the ability to obtain AGSVA security clearance.

Formación

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Facilities Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive senior operations or contract management experience in infrastructure, Defence, or regulated environments.
• Proven experience leading large, multi-site service delivery contracts with subcontractors, WHS, audits, risk and contract compliance.
• Strong financial literacy with budgeting, forecasting and reporting; capable of government/Defence engagement.
• Ability to obtain and retain AGSVA security clearance.

What You'll Do

This role offers broad operational accountability, with key responsibilities including:

• Lead the delivery and integration of Estate Upkeep, Land Management, Aerodrome Operations, and Training Area and Range Management services across Queensland Defence sites.
• Oversee multi-site operations and subcontractors, ensuring contractual KPIs, safety, quality, compliance, and client expectations are consistently achieved.
• Manage regional budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, variations, and value-for-money outcomes while identifying cost and efficiency improvements.
• Build strong relationships with Defence stakeholders, represent Downer in regional forums, and act as the primary escalation point for Queensland operational issues.
• Lead and develop regional service leads and support teams, driving performance, accountability, succession planning, continuous improvement, and innovation.

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Facilities Management, Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA are desirable.
• Extensive senior operations or contract management experience in infrastructure, facilities management, Defence, or another regulated environment.
• Proven experience leading large, multi-site service delivery contracts, subcontractors, WHS performance, audits, risk, and contract compliance.
• Strong financial literacy and senior stakeholder engagement capability, including budget management, forecasting, reporting, and engagement with Government or Defence clients.
• Ability to obtain and retain an appropriate AGSVA Security Clearance.
