Carbon Group is seeking a senior leader to own the Bookkeeping, Payroll and CFO Services division, guiding clients and the team while driving growth.

You’ll oversee a diverse client base, build trusted relationships with business owners, and shape the division’s direction alongside the partners and senior leaders.

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. We’re on the hunt for a senior leader to join Carbon and help lead the next stage of our Bookkeeping & CFO Services division.

About Carbon.

We’re not your average professional services firm. Carbon launched in 2014 with the goal of shaking up the industry and changing the level of service small and medium business owners receive.

Today, we bring together Accounting & Tax, Bookkeeping & CFO Services, Finance & Lending, Insurance and Wealth Management, giving our clients access to a broader team of experts while keeping the personal service we’ve built our reputation on.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking to expand our senior leadership capability across Bookkeeping, Payroll and CFO Services.

About the role.

We’re looking for an experienced leader who can take ownership of the division, its clients and its people, while continuing to drive its growth.

This could be an established Partner or senior leader looking for their next move, or someone operating at a senior management level who is ready to step up with an authentic pathway to Partnership.

You’ll oversee a diverse client base and a team delivering Bookkeeping, Payroll and CFO Services, making sure we’re delivering great work while continuing to look for ways to improve, grow and create more value for our clients.

We want someone who takes ownership, makes decisions and gets things moving. Someone who can lead at a strategic level but is equally comfortable staying close to the team, clients and day‑to‑day operation of the division.

What you’ll take ownership of:

• Leading our Bookkeeping, Payroll and CFO Services offering.
• Overseeing the division’s client portfolio and service delivery.
• Leading, developing and getting the best out of the team.

• Driving performance, accountability and consistency across the division.
• Identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships and win new business.
• Continuing to develop our CFO Services offering and the value we provide to clients.
• Improving the way we work as the division continues to scale.
• Working alongside Carbon’s Partners and senior leaders to help shape the broader direction of the business.
• Creating opportunities for clients across Carbon’s wider financial services offering.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong leadership experience within bookkeeping, outsourced finance, CFO advisory, accounting or a related professional services environment.
• Experience leading teams and overseeing a substantial client portfolio.
• A strong understanding of Bookkeeping and Payroll, with the commercial capability to lead a broader CFO Services offering.
• The confidence to make decisions and take accountability for outcomes.
• Strong commercial instincts and an ability to see opportunities for growth.
• A track record of building trusted relationships with business owners and senior decision‑makers.
• A focus on developing people and building high‑performing teams.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to make things happen.
