Job summary

Carbon Group is seeking a Graduate Accountant to join our team in Adelaide. You will receive hands-on training from day one and be mentored by senior accountants and managers while you develop practical skills across tax and accounting for individuals and small to medium businesses.

You will learn to use Xero and MYOB and gain exposure to client work, with a clear pathway to CA/CPA along with ongoing professional development within a supportive, inclusive firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Commerce/Accounting or similar (double degrees encouraged).
• Willing to commence CA or CPA program.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals and SMBs.
• Preparing BAS and other compliance work with support from the team.

We're looking for someone who:

• Hasrecently completed a Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting or similar (those with double degrees are encouraged to apply!)
• Is willing to commence either the Chartered Accounting (CA) program or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) program.

Job responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals and small to medium businesses.
• Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other compliance work with support from the team.
• Completing reconciliations, workpapers and other supporting schedules.
• Assisting with individual, company, trust and partnership tax compliance.
• Helping gather information and resolve queries as part of completing client work.
• Learning to use Xero, MYOB and our accounting and practice management systems.
• Building your understanding of Australian taxation and accounting requirements through practical, hands-on experience.
• Working alongside senior accountants and managers and taking on greater responsibility as your skills develop.
• Getting exposure to clients and learning how to communicate financial information clearly and confidently.
• Supporting the wider Accounting & Tax team with additional tasks as required.
