Job summary

ActivateUTS seeks a hands-on Digital Coordinator to maintain and modernise its WordPress sites across ActivateUTS venues, with a focus on empowering marketing teams to publish confidently. This role is on campus in Ultimo with one day a week remote, part-time 3 days per week.

You will train teams, refresh CMS guides, and ensure content accuracy, accessibility, and compliance while supporting e-commerce updates and complex page builds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a digital production, web content, CMS administration or digital marketing role.
  • Hands-on proficiency in WordPress CMS, including page builders like Elementor.
  • Experience working with web hosting platforms such as Kinsta or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and support non-technical users and to write clear procedural documentation.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and familiarity with digital publishing and development workflows and web accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG).
  • Sound understanding of UX, SEO and content strategy.
  • Ability to triage technical issues and manage escalation to external vendors and agencies.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work autonomously across a part-time schedule with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Train Commercial Marketing and Student Life and Sport Marketing staff to publish, build and maintain content across their own sites in WordPress and Elementor.
  • Refresh, consolidate and maintain CMS user guides and reusable training resources.
  • Deliver CMS induction and standards training for new Marketing, clubs and sport users.
  • Maintain a record of gaps that emerge through the transition and the action taken to close them, to inform the review of ongoing requirements.
  • Provide publishing support and overflow capacity across all ActivateUTS sites, particularly through pre-semester and O'Day peaks.
  • Build and quality assure complex pages, landing pages and campaign builds that sit beyond the current capability of the marketing teams.
  • Support e-commerce and retail product and coupon updates and update the supporting instructions.
  • Ensure published content meets digital standards, accessibility (e.g. WCAG) and legal obligations, and lead QA to minimise errors.
  • Provide guidance on site architecture, usability and content structure as sites are handed to their new owners.
  • Act as the first technical point of contact for CMS and site issues, triaging with the relevant marketing function and IT before escalation.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine break-fix issues across the CMSs, escalating unresolved matters to IT and the retained agency through the agreed process.
  • Support release testing, including test preparation, defect recording, retesting and sign-off input.
  • Monitor integrations and third-party tools linked to the website portfolio, and manage or update plugins as required.
