Job summary

The Y WA is seeking a part-time Work Health and Safety Advisor to strengthen safety culture in Welshpool (Perth, WA). You will review and monitor the WHS Management System, conduct site visits, and coordinate injury management across WA.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, People and Culture, you’ll work with managers, deliver training, update policies, and support flexible working arrangements for a 3–4 day week.

Qualifications

• Hold tertiary qualifications in WHS or relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regs and codes of practice.
• Experience implementing leading WHS practices across dispersed workforces.
• Proven ability to build rapport and networks at all levels.
• Strong consultative and influencing skills.
• High skill level in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Willingness to travel to WA metro/regional worksites.
• Ability to work autonomously as the WHS specialist.
• Can obtain Police Certificate and Working with Children card.

Responsibilities

• Review, deliver and monitor the Y WA’s WHS Management System, culture and processes.
• Conduct site visits and identify physical/psychological hazards.
• Respond to incidents and facilitate training.
• Partner with managers and undertake risk audits.
• Develop policies and procedures and coordinate reporting.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and injury management.
