Qualifications

• Experience in sewage/wastewater treatment or similar environment.
• Practical and mechanically minded approach.
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Ability to identify and report faults or abnormal operating conditions.
• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Qualifications, licences or experience operating treatment plant equipment are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor sewage treatment plant equipment and processes.
• Conduct routine inspections of pumps, tanks and dosing systems.
• Monitor plant performance, alarms and treatment processes.
• Collect samples and perform routine testing.
• Maintain plant logs, records and test results.
• Monitor chemicals and consumables, perform basic maintenance and report faults.
• Assist with sludge management and disposal as required.
• Keep the plant environment clean, safe and orderly.
• Report operational, environmental and safety issues promptly.
