Job summary

Monash Health’s SECASA Intake & Brief Treatment Team seeks a Grade 2 Social Worker to provide trauma‑informed intake, crisis counselling and brief interventions. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team at the Dandenong Centre, including after‑hours roster commitments.

You will engage clients affected by sexual assault, family violence and complex trauma, coordinating care, information sharing and referrals while contributing to education and service development.

Qualifications

• This role requires trauma‑informed clinical practice and crisis counselling skills.
• Ability to engage with clients, families and professionals with empathy.
• Comfort working in a multidisciplinary team and adapting to evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Completing intake, triage and initial assessments using evidence‑based approaches
• Providing crisis counselling and brief, evidence‑based interventions
• Coordinating sexual assault crisis responses as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Providing information, referrals and secondary consultation to professionals
• Contributing to community education and professional development
• Supporting service improvement and sector reform
