Job summary

Western Sydney University’s School of Medicine in Liverpool seeks a Senior Lecturer in Medicine for a part-time appointment to deliver high-quality medical education across programs. The role combines teaching, curriculum development, assessment and student support within an integrated academic/clinical setting.

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification or equivalent, have medical registration via AHPRA, and bring strong teaching, research and collaboration capabilities.

Qualifications

• A doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing, with candidates working towards a PhD also considered.
• Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA.
• Specialist training as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and consultant-level experience in a relevant clinical field.
• Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum development and course delivery, using contemporary pedagogical approaches, educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• A strong research track record relative to opportunity, with the capacity to contribute to research excellence and leadership.
• A commitment to supporting and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds and contributing to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and engage effectively with the profession and industry.
• Experience supervising high-calibre students and contributing to initiatives that strengthen learning and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver integrated medical teaching and clinical outcomes across undergraduate and postgraduate medicine programs.
• Design and deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate medicine programs, including curriculum development, assessment and student support.
• Manage course administration, academic quality assurance and activities that strengthen student progression and graduate outcomes.
• Collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to develop teaching, research and professional practice within the discipline.
• Hold an associated clinical role within a medicine department in SWSLHD, principally at Liverpool.
