St Andrews Lutheran College on the Gold Coast seeks a compassionate School Chaplain to support spiritual wellbeing and pastoral life across our P–12 community. The role works under the College Pastor, collaborating with leadership and pastoral care teams to provide faith-informed guidance in a Christ-centred environment.

This part-time, 0.5FTE position is permanent and term-time only, with pay in accordance with the Queensland Lutheran Schools Single Enterprise Agreement and experience.

Formación

• Active personal Christian faith and commitment to Christian values.
• Experience in pastoral care, ministry support, youth work, or related field.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
• Excellent communication and active listening.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Understanding of child safety obligations and referral pathways.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to promoting the Christian ethos of St Andrews Lutheran College.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain visible pastoral presence across the College.
• Provide informal pastoral support through listening, encouragement, prayer.
• Support students experiencing wellbeing, transitions and faith-related questions.
• Assist with chapel services, devotions, worship experiences and major faith events.
• Collaborate with the Chaplain, Pastoral Care Team and College leaders on wellbeing initiatives.
• Support service, outreach and community engagement reflecting the College's mission.
• Respond to wellbeing and safeguarding concerns per College policies.
• Attend camps, retreats and select College activities for pastoral presence.
