Job summary

Depot Hill State School in Rockhampton region is seeking an experienced Business Manager (AO4) to join the leadership team. The role focuses on delivering administrative, financial and HR support, and leading corporate services within a small, community-minded school.

The position is offered on a permanent part-time basis (0.80FTE), approximately 58 hours per fortnight, with the aim of supporting constructive outcomes for students and staff. Applications from all backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Operate autonomously in delivering business services to the school and support management of complex processes.
• Provide administrative support, prepare reports and correspondence, research problems and advise on solutions.
• Oversee supervision of school support staff, monitor workloads and performance; coordinate recruitment, induction and training.
• Assist Principal with budget preparation and day-to-day financial activities (expenditure, payroll, purchasing, financial reports).
• Monitor facilities and grounds maintenance, negotiate with contractors and manage maintenance budgets.
• Build networks with other Business Managers, staff and community representatives to ensure best practice in corporate services.
