Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood in Port Macquarie is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our donor centre team on a permanent part-time basis. This role offers a stable, people-focused environment with a clear impact on the community and donor experience.

You will interview donors, perform blood pressure and haemoglobin tests, set up and operate collection equipment, and manage donor safety. Flexibility across a rotating Monday to Saturday roster and occasional travel to nearby

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to understand eligibility and suitability to donate.
• Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process.
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up machines and collections equipment.
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
• Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance.
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation.
