Job summary

The Bays Healthcare Group in Mornington is seeking experienced Registered Midwives to join our team on a part-time basis. You will provide holistic, evidence-based care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods within a supportive multidisciplinary maternity unit.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
• Recent clinical experience in a maternity setting.
• Sound knowledge of midwifery practice and emergency protocols.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to work within professional, ethical and legislative boundaries.
• A satisfactory police check, working with children check and vaccination status evidence prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred midwifery care across all stages of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care in accordance with best practice standards.
• Support and educate women and their families throughout their maternity experience.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold strict confidentiality.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and promote maternal and neonatal safety.
• Liaise with medical and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Mentor and support new staff, student midwives and graduate nurses.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and in-service training.
• Adhere to The Bays policies and procedures, and professional standards of practice.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives in the maternity unit.
• Promote effective communication and foster a positive team environment.
