Job summary

Glencore International AG is seeking a part-time Purchasing Officer to join the Ravensworth Complex supply team in NSW. You will support timely, cost-effective procurement across the site, with a three-day-per-week base and flexibility for up to five days for leave coverage.

Key duties include processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, supplier relationship management and cost reduction opportunities, while ensuring compliance and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing along with a strong knowledge of purchasing practices, supplier management and commercial principles.
• The ability to balance operational requirements with cost, quality, availability and delivery timeframes.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
• A high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Experience with SAP Materials Management (MM) will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchasing activities in accordance with company policies, procedures and approval requirements.
• Sourcing goods and services to achieve the best total cost, quality, availability and delivery outcomes.
• Converting purchase requisitions into accurate purchase orders and ensure invoices and deliveries are processed promptly.
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, minimise freight charges and improve supply outcomes.
• Coordinating with site, maintenance, warehouse, finance and operational teams to ensure timely supply.
• Maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier data, pricing and supporting documentation.
• Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, statutory obligations and company requirements.
• Providing support to team members.
