Job summary

SA Health is seeking an Enrolled Theatre Nurse for Lyell McEwin Hospital in Elizabeth Vale, SA. This temporary part-time role (24 hours per week) offers pro rata salary from $66,552 to $77,824 plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits, up to 16 July 2027.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (without notation restricting medication administration)
• Demonstrated experience in a perioperative or surgical scrub/scout environment
• Sound understanding of aseptic technique and instrument handling within Theatre
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team under pressure
• Commitment to the SA Health values of integrity, respect, and accountability in everyday practice
• Eligibility to work within the SA public health system, including satisfactory pre-employment screening

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled scrub, scout, and/or anaesthetic nursing assistance across a range of surgical specialties
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and equipment in line with infection control and safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and RNs to deliver patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, clinical safety, and team accountability
