Job summary

Hall & Wilcox is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our national Finance team on a 12 month fixed-term contract, working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The role supports the Payroll Manager across 1200+ employees and partners, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

This national role can be based from any Australian office and offers hybrid/WFH options, plus learning and career development.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years payroll experience.
• Experience processing a payroll for 800+ employees.
• End-to-end payroll experience.
• MicrOpay or Definitiv experience preferred.
• Knowledge of statutory tax, Superannuation, STP.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for ~1200 employees, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Manage leave processing in ESS and oversee entitlements.
• Process superannuation contributions fortnightly.
• Assist with monthly reconciliation and reporting for the Payroll Manager.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly profit share distributions for partners.
• End of financial year processing and remuneration changes.
• Provide payroll support to other teams and handle queries.
• Ad hoc reporting and other duties as required.
