Job summary

Doctors and Co. is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join Mulwaree Doctors. You will greet patients, manage appointments, handle payments, and maintain confidential medical records while ensuring a welcoming clinic environment.

Prior experience with BEST PRACTICE/MEDICAL DIRECTOR is advantageous. The role requires strong organisational skills, teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Open and close clinic as per set procedure
• Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
• Make appointments for patients
• Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
• Accurately process patient payments via cash, EFTPOS, and direct bill
• Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover
• Know the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures
• Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously
• Attend to patient enquiries
• Check and handle internal emails
• Fill in the roster when staff is away
• Maintain reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy
• Store and retrieve patient records securely
• Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information
• Complete recalls
• Support day-to-day operations of the medical centre
• Provide exceptional customer service and teamwork
