Job summary

St Columba’s College Essendon is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Officer to join our Learning Diversity team in Essendon, VIC. The role is fixed-term (potentially ongoing) and part-time, 18 hours per week, three days from 8:30am to 3:30pm in 2027.

Responsibilities include supporting Years 7–12 students with diverse learning needs, in-class assistance, small-group support and implementing personalised learning plans. Visa/work rights compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Genuine commitment to supporting young people with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills.
• Able to follow teacher direction while working proactively and independently.
• Experience in learning support, youth work, education support or similar fields (desirable).
• Certificate III or IV in Education Support (advantageous but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across Years 7–12.
• Provide in-class assistance, small-group support and individualised learning adjustments.
• Assist with the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans and evidence-based interventions.
