Job summary

Bialik College in Melbourne is seeking a passionate Teacher - Student Services to shape academic and personal growth for secondary students, including Learning Essentials classes. The role is 0.60–0.80 FTE, ongoing from Term 1, 2027, at our Hawthorn campus with a focus on inclusive, rigorous classroom practice.

VIT registration with a relevant tertiary qualification is essential; special education qualifications or experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• VIT registration is essential along with a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Special education qualifications and/or experience preferred.
• Solid experience teaching Middle and Senior School; VCE experience desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Flexible, creative and collaborative with the broader school community.
• Up to 7 days of gifted leave per year during Jewish Holidays.
• Permanent full-time staff receive a 25% school fee discount for their children; pro-rata for part-time over 50% FTE.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering engaging Learning Essentials lessons for Middle and Senior School.
• Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback.
• Collaborating with colleagues to refine curriculum and assessment strategies.

• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment promoting wellbeing.
• Continuously improving teaching practice through professional development.
