Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council in Windsor, NSW is seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to join the Governance and Risk team on a part-time basis. The role provides proactive collaboration and support to the Internal Audit Coordinator and function, promoting robust audit practices across Council.

You will apply internal audit standards, engage with stakeholders, and help deliver timely assurance on governance, risk management and controls while meeting statutory obligations and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in governance/risk.
• Experience applying internal audit standards and controls.
• Understanding of public sector accountability and governance.

Responsibilities

• Support Internal Audit Coordinator and the Internal Audit function with proactive collaboration and tasks.
• Raise awareness of internal audit across Council and promote best-practice.
• Contribute to audit planning, testing, reporting and governance processes.
