Hawkesbury City Council in Windsor, NSW is seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to join the Governance and Risk team on a part-time basis. The role provides proactive collaboration and support to the Internal Audit Coordinator and function, promoting robust audit practices across Council.
You will apply internal audit standards, engage with stakeholders, and help deliver timely assurance on governance, risk management and controls while meeting statutory obligations and deadlines.

Reporting to the Manager Governance and Risk and based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to provide proactive collaboration and support to Council’s Internal Audit Coordinator and Council’s Internal Audit function as well as all associated tasks, and champion Internal Audit by raising awareness within Council.
You have demonstrated experience within an internal audit role, with proficiency in applying Internal Audit standards, procedures, techniques and advanced principles and practices of fraud analysis and prevention. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exercising sound judgement. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team and meet organisational and legislative deadlines.
