Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoowoomba is seeking a qualified Chef to join its Hospitality Services team on a permanent part-time basis (25 hours per week). You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for patients within a contemporary room service model and contribute to patient wellbeing.

Ideal candidates hold a Commercial Cookery qualification (Cert III or higher) and have at least 12 months of food handling experience, including room service and docketing systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and cooking items per menu guidelines and HACCP-based food safety program.
• Ability to work across 7 days including AM and PM shifts.
• Demonstrated understanding of dietary needs and patient‑focused service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook items according to menu guidelines and standard recipes.
• Adhere to personal hygiene and food handling practices per HACCP requirements.
• Assist with stock handling, storage, rotation, and temperature controls.
• Be flexible with rostering across 7 days (AM/PM shifts).
