St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital (SATH) is seeking a passionate Chef for our hospital kitchen to deliver high-quality, patient-focused meals. The role offers flexible shifts to fit your life and includes benefits such as salary packaging and an on-site gym.

You will prepare patient meals, support the hospital cafe/kiosk, and cater for on-site events while maintaining strict hygiene and dietary compliance. Join a values-driven team at SATH.

Formación

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Experience as a Chef in healthcare or large-scale food service is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene and dietary requirements is essential.
• Able to work collaboratively in a busy kitchen team; strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and serve patient meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Prepare food for the hospital cafe and kiosk.
• Provide catering for on-site functions and visiting medical officers.
• Meet meal service times while maintaining food quality and presentation.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety and safe work practices.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate supplies and minimise food waste.

As a Chef, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality and patient-focused catering services. Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and serve patient meals and ensuring dietary requirements are met
• Prepare food for St Andrew's Hospital Cafe and Kiosk
• Provide catering for on-site functions, suites and visiting medical officers
• Meet meal service times whole maintaining consistent food quality and presentation
• maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety and safe work practices
• monitor stock levels, rotate supplies and minimise food waste

What Makes a Difference for Us?

We are seeking an individual who possesses the following:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Demonstrated experience working as a Chef
• Experience in healthcare or large-scale food service, highly regarded
• Sound knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene and dietary requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy kitchen team
• Strong organisational, time management and communication skillsx
• Commitment to quality food presentation and customer service
• Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Experience in stock control, waste reduction and efficient food preparation
• Experience in café, retail or function catering, beneficial
