Job summary

Rockhampton Girls Grammar School is seeking a Grounds and Maintenance Assistant for a part-time, negotiable role supporting day-to-day property upkeep and grounds care.

Responsibilities include mowing, planting, weed control, cleaning, minor repairs, equipment checks, and liaising with the Facilities team. Immediate start and a practical, hands-on approach are important, with a commitment to school values and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day property and maintenance matters for grounds and facilities.
• Perform gardening duties: mowing, planting, pruning, edging and weed control.
• Prepare and plant season-specific displays and garden features.
• Move and relocate furniture, equipment, stationery as required.
• Clean external surfaces, roofs, gutters, and downpipes as needed.
• Monitor and liaise on service contracts (rubbish collection, cleaning, etc.).
