Job summary

Uniting is seeking a passionate Community Development Worker to deliver family programs, connect families with services and foster community links at the Harris Community Centre in Ultimo.

You will work three days a week on a 12‑month fixed-term contract, coordinating events, supporting families, and partnering with schools and health services to reduce isolation and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Social Science or equivalent.
• Current paid NSW Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging community programs, playgroups, events and parent/child activities.
• Welcome families and connect them with relevant services and resources.
• Build strong relationships with schools, health services and local partners.
• Coordinate volunteers and students involved in centre activities.
• Maintain accurate client records and reporting in line with safety requirements.
• Grow the Centre and Uniting's profile through community engagement and social media.
