Job summary

Monash Health’s Casey Early Parenting Centre in Clyde is seeking an Early Parenting Practitioner on a part-time basis (0.8 EFT, 32 hours/week). The role operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or MCH Nurse and involves working with families to support sleep, feeding and parenting skills.

Requirements include a Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Development or Infant Mental Health, or equivalent Human Services qualification, plus current WWC, Victorian Driver’s Licence and

Qualifications

• Experience working with families in the health/welfare sector and in the early parenting period.
• Strong relationship-building skills, able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of child development and parenting strategies, including supporting behavior change in adults.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills across diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Work intensively with parents to help them realise their parenting goals.
• Model and coach parenting skills and respond to child cues.
• Support parents in implementing goals in their care plans.
• Apply Department of Health EPC guidance documents and related resources.
