Job summary

genU is looking for Support Workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement, supporting daily living skills and personal care.

This role requires patience, resilience and a willingness to work shifts as rostered; successful applicants will have Cert III in Disability or equivalent, a valid driver’s licence and willingness to use their own

Qualifications

• Experience supporting customers with behavioural support plans.
• Experience with challenging behaviours.
• Understanding and enthusiasm for working with people with disabilities.
• Ability to manage complex situations with patience.
• Experience with manual handling and medication administration.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties.
• Cert III in Disability or higher (or working towards one) OR proven disability support experience.
• Ability to hoist and transport customers in a company van.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to use private vehicle with company allowance.

Responsibilities

• Support person-centred plans that identify customer life goals and work to achieve them.
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal prep, housekeeping, showering and toileting; assist with medication administration.
• Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; monitor and report.
• Perform administration duties and mandatory reporting.
