Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC in Wonthaggi is seeking a Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officer (FTE 0.5). This part-time role supports the Court Assessment & Prosecutions Service, performing initial assessments, crafting reports, and applying risk assessment practices.

You will work on Thursdays and Fridays with some flexibility for other days. The position offers a salary band of $91,971 to $98,955 plus superannuation and a pathway to future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of court processes and prosecutions
• Demonstrated ability to provide human services in needs assessments and development of interventions
• Pays attention to words, expression and body language; Recognises behaviours that promote a culture of inclusion
• Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high quality, evidence-based advice to stakeholders
• Undertake an effective assessment of an individual's risk to community safety
• Effectively manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours
• Produce detailed reports and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines
