Job summary

The Bays Hospital in Mornington is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to ensure timely and accurate coding of medical records in line with Australian Coding Standards.

You will have a recognised Clinical Coding/Health Information Management qualification, at least two years of relevant experience, and strong communication, attention to detail and time management skills. This is a permanent part-time role of 45 hours per fortnight, based on site at The Bays Hospital.

Qualifications

• Recognised Clinical Coding/Health Information Management qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with varied case mix.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records accurately and efficiently according to Australian Coding Standards and legislation.
• Review clinical documentation and liaise with clinicians to ensure quality of coded health information.
• Participate in coding audits, correct errors, and maintain coding quality and productivity.
• Complete clinical data reporting, cancer registrations, and month-end activities within timeframes.
