Job summary

Spotless is seeking an experienced part-time Chef at Adelaide Immigration Detention Centre, Kilburn, SA. You will prepare culturally diverse, nutritious meals and uphold strict food safety standards, with emphasis on HACCP compliance and efficient kitchen operations.

You should hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, plus a Working with Children Check or willingness to apply. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (Employee) or willingness to apply.
• Knowledge of menu and nutritional standards.
• HACCP Food Safety guidelines knowledge.
• Bulk cooking skills, ideally aged care or resources experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, prepare, and produce food as directed by the Catering Manager, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and stock control.
• Adhere to HACCP Food Safety Plan and complete food safety documentation accurately.
• Monitor storage standards, FIFO principles, and holding temperatures for perishables.
• Uphold Standards of Business Conduct and contribute to safety and quality improvements.
