Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Assistant in Nursing for the Ambulatory Care Centre on a permanent part-time basis. The role supports nursing staff in outpatient clinics across multiple specialties, with 28 hours per week and a remuneration range per hour.

The successful applicant will work under a Registered Nurse, assisting with patient care, setting up rooms, stocking supplies, and helping with administrative tasks in a busy outpatient environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or diploma deemed appropriate; or completion of HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing with Block 1 completion.
• Knowledge and experience in an acute healthcare environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clinic rooms and equipment.
• Maintain stock and clinical supplies.
• Assist with patient care and clinic flow.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Support the nursing team with general clinical and administrative tasks.
• Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance processes.
• Other duties within the AIN scope of practice as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
