Job summary

The Parole Board Queensland in Brisbane Inner City seeks a Professional Board Member to chair multi-disciplinary meetings and apply legal principles to evidence for lawful, evidence-based parole decisions. Qualifications

• Administrative law experience, preferably with expertise in evidence-based decision making and statutorily mandated processes.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation and consolidating complex information to inform sound decisions.
• Appreciation of the duty to make lawful, evidence-based decisions under Corrective Services Act 2006 and Human Rights Act 2019.

Responsibilities

• Chair multi-disciplinary meetings and apply legal principles to evidence to reach lawful decisions.
• Make decisions concerning parole eligibility, amendments, suspension and cancellation of Parole orders.
• Ensure decisions are evidence-based and compliant with statutory requirements.
