Job summary

Parliament of Western Australia is seeking a Research Officer to support Legislative Council committees from the Committee Office in West Perth. The 12-month contract role involves rigorous research, draft reporting, and briefing materials for inquiries, with a focus on impartial, apolitical analysis.

Based in the Legislative Council Committee Office, you will manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and communicate procedural advice to committees.

Qualifications

• Strong research and analytical skills with experience preparing written reports.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple tasks relating to parliamentary inquiries.
• Ability to interpret procedural and administrative instructions.

Responsibilities

• Undertake research and provide well written analysis of materials.
• Prepare draft reports, briefing papers and discussion papers.
• Assist with communication of strategic and procedural advice to Committees.
