Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a hands-on leader for parks & gardens to supervise a skilled team, oversee maintenance programs, and ensure high standards of presentation for our public spaces in Sydney. You will manage resources, monitor worksites, and report on progress while upholding safety and quality expectations.

The role requires Cert III in Parks & Gardens or related field, a White Card, a current driver’s licence and ChemCERT, with additional leave entitlements and flexible benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Cert III in Parks & Gardens, Horticulture or Landscape
• Leadership qualification (desirable) with evidence of leading teams of blue collar workers
• A SafeWork NSW White Card (General Construction Induction)
• Current Driver’s Licence Class C
• The ability to work outside of normal hours as required
• Hold a current ChemCERT licence or obtain within the first 3 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Supervising and guiding your team and providing adequate resources to deliver the maintenance program
• Conducting daily worksite inspections to monitor delivery of works and adherence to schedules
• Providing regular reports on program status, performance and resource levels to address risk and compliance issues
• Managing and monitoring service delivery of providers and contractors to meet standards
• Providing team feedback on quality and implementing strategies to improve delivery of outcomes
• Managing the Client Relationship Management system to monitor scheduling and completion of works
• Promoting a positive, collaborative culture and ethical professional behaviour
• Collaborating with the team, manager and stakeholders to achieve business unit goals and Council priorities
