Job summary

Project & Management Pros – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a park maintenance worker to assist in keeping Council parks and open spaces to a high standard. The role involves labouring, basic maintenance, and operating equipment such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, and leaf blowers within a team.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent experience, with preferred MR/HR licence and a proven track record in safe, hands-on park work.

• Labouring, minor works and general park maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate parks minor plant such as mowers, edgers, trimmers and leaf blowers.
• Commitment to safe work procedures and policies.

The purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining Councils' parks and open spaces to a standard acceptable by residents, visitors and stakeholders. To undertake the effective maintenance of the parks, open spaces and park infrastructure using equipment and or handheld tools within a team to produce quality green spaces.

• Carry out labouring, minor works and general park maintenance as directed
• Operate parks minor plant such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, leaf blowers and/or equivalent machinery
• Adhere to safe work procedures and policies

About you

• Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent experience
• Prior experience operating parks minor plant such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, leaf blowers and/or equivalent machinery
• Physically able to carry out labouring, minor works and general park maintenance
• MR/HR licence preferred
• Present for work fit for duties and free from alcohol and other drugs
