Job summary

Hays is seeking a Parks Operator in Perth, WA to maintain parks, reserves, and public spaces. You will perform gardening tasks, drive council vehicles, and operate equipment across multiple sites.

The role requires White Card, and desirable MR/HR licences and Chainsaw ticket. A team-focused, safety-conscious candidate with horticulture experience will thrive in this active, outdoors position.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in parks and gardens, landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
• A White Card is essential and MR/HR licence and ChainsawTicket are highly desirable.
• Experience operating outdoor maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining parks, gardens, and public open spaces through weeding, planting, mulching, watering, pruning and spraying.
• Driving council vehicles and trucks between various park and garden locations.
• Carrying out verge and streetscape maintenance to keep public areas clean and presentable.
• Operating equipment and machinery including whipper snippers, blowers, ride-on mowers and chainsaws.
• Undertaking physical outdoor work and manual handling in a safe and efficient manner.
