Job summary

The Sarina Russo Group is seeking a compassionate Parent Mentor to join the Hervey Bay team on a full-time basis. You will mentor parents, run workshops, and help families engage with the Parent Pathways program, leveraging lived parenting experience to empower participants.

Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and within a team, and a commitment to inclusivity and accurate case management.

Qualifications

• Personal lived parenting/family support experience; employment service experience is highly regarded.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse families.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help parents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with community resources is a plus.
• Ability to meet targets while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Understanding and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives; inclusivity.
• Precision in documentation and case management for accuracy and compliance.
• Proficiency in technology; Blue Card/Working with Children Check required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised mentorship to parents, offering support and guidance on parenting challenges.
• Assist parents to overcome barriers and empower them with skills to achieve employment/education goals.
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on parent-related topics.
• Develop and implement engaging educational materials and resources.
• Foster a safe, supportive environment for parents to share experiences and learn.
• Collaborate with community organisations to enhance program offerings.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, providing feedback for improvement.
