Job summary

Shine Lawyers in Helensvale is seeking a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal to join the Personal Injury team on a full-time basis. You will work side by side with our legal professionals to support day-to-day file and client management and help drive meaningful outcomes for clients.

We welcome applicants with transferable experience from legal support or administration; a genuine interest in plaintiff personal injury matters, strong typing, and solid Word/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within professional services is desirable.
• Genuine interest in plaintiff personal injury matters.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Accurate typing skills and intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel.
• A keen eye for detail when managing and collating documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of the importance of your role as a key point of contact supporting our clients.

Responsibilities

• Support solicitors with day-to-day file and client management across personal injury and head trauma claims.
• Prepare matters for conference and hearing, including court documents and general correspondence.
• Draft briefs and documents such as claim forms and schedules of damages with high attention to detail.
• Coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, Shine employees, Counsel and external stakeholders.
• Assist Legal team with optimizing the use of internal systems to process information.

While experience in personal injury law is preferred, it is not essential. What matters most is a genuine interest in personal injury law and a desire to build a career helping people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. • Working with our solicitors to successfully support them with day-to-day operations of files/client management across a range of personal injury and head trauma claims.


• Preparing matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence.


• Using your high attention to detail to draft briefs and documents, such as claim forms and schedule of damages.


• Efficiently coordinating medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.


• Cultivating strong relationships with our clients, Shine employees, Counsel and other external stakeholders.


• Supporting our Legal team with optimising the use of internal systems to process information.

What you’ll bring.

• Previous experience in a similar role within professional services industries is desirable


• A genuine interest in plaintiff personal injury matters

Please note that although this role is a full-time opportunity, we are open to discussions around either a part-time or flexible work arrangement, in the equivalent of 4 days per week, for the right candidate with relevant experience.
