Aboriginal Legal Service in Dubbo, NSW, is seeking a proactive paralegal to support the Care and Protection/Family Law Practice. In this fixed-term role, you’ll assist solicitors, prepare matters for hearings, and liaise with clients, courts, and agencies to help deliver culturally safe legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

You’ll conduct legal research, draft documents, maintain files and records, and provide admin and secretarial support.

Qualifikationen

• Formal paralegal qualifications or current Law Degree in progress.
• Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and support services.
• Ability to research, draft, and prepare court filings with confidentiality.

Aufgaben

• Provide high-level paralegal support to solicitors, including legal research, drafting documents, and preparing matters for hearings.
• Assist with court matters, client interviews, file reviews, and preparation of applications and affidavits.
• Liaise with clients, courts, government and non-government agencies, and other legal professionals.
• Maintain accurate files, databases, and statistical records while ensuring confidentiality.
• Provide administrative and secretarial support including document prep and general office tasks.
• Work collaboratively to deliver culturally respectful service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
