Job summary

Recruitment Innovations – Laverton North VIC is seeking an experienced and qualified Panel Beater for a permanent full-time role. You will handle panel removal, straightening, welding, fitting repaired panels, and assist in spray preparation in a safety‑conscious workshop.

Requirements: Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology and at least 4 years’ trade experience; excellent communication, time management, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Trade qualified Panel beater.
• Excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged panels and components by unbolting or cutting them away.
• Straighten badly damaged vehicles using mechanical and hydraulic equipment to obtain door, boot, and bonnet clearances.
• Cut and join replacement sections or damaged panels using oxyacetylene and electric welding equipment.
• Fit the repaired panel on the framework of the vehicle and refit body hardware such as door locks and door trim.
• Assist in the preparation for spray painting vehicles.
• Realign chassis and body frames and use chassis alignment machines and measuring systems.

We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Panel beaters to join our team. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

• Strong Commitment to safety – No short cut
• Remove damaged panels and components by unbolting or cutting them away.
• Straighten badly damaged vehicles using mechanical and hydraulic equipment to obtain door, boot, and bonnet clearances.
• Cut and join replacement sections or damaged panels using oxyacetylene and electric welding equipment.
• Fit the repaired panel on the framework of the vehicle and refit body hardware such as door locks and door trim.
• Assist in the preparation for spray painting vehicles.
• Remove and replace accident-related mechanical items.
• Realign chassis and body frames and use chassis alignment machines and measuring systems.
• Remove and replace auto electric components.
• Remove dents by hammering panels with special panel beating tools such as planishing hammers.
