Job summary

Growstock Ventures Pty Ltd (T/A Toni's Smash Repairs) in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our busy workshop near the CBD. You will restore damaged panels to their original condition using traditional metalworking techniques and modern tools.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair (or equivalent) or 3 years of panel-beating experience, plus 2–3 years in a workshop setting, solid knowledge of methods, and a commitment to OHS standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Alternatively, 3 years of relevant panel-beater experience.
• Strong knowledge of traditional panel beating techniques and OHS obligations.

Responsibilities

• Deconstruct damaged vehicle parts and inspect repair scope.
• Undertake full panel beating work including doors, fenders, and quarters.
• Apply traditional hammer and dolly methods, shrinking and stretching.
• Use pneumatic hammers, hydraulic equipment, dollies and anvils, and measuring tools.
• Cut out damaged panels and fit or replace with new panels.
• Apply fillers and finish surfaces; work with steel and aluminium.
• Work with various vehicle models, including custom or vintage.
• Observe all OHS rules and regulations.

Job description

Growstock Ventures Pty Ltd (T/A Toni's Smash Repairs) is looking for an experienced Panel Beater for our busy workshop situated close to the Brisbane CBD. You will restore damaged panels back to perfect condition using a combination of traditional metalworking techniques and modern tools.

Key responsibilities

• Deconstructing damaged vehicle parts and panels safely and with minimal further damage and inspecting scope of repair required
• Undertaking full range of panel beating work such as door and fender straightening, quarter panels, roofs and bonnet repairs
• Applying traditional panel beating techniques including hammer and dolly work, metal shrinking, panel stretching and welding techniques
• Utilising sophisticated modern tools such as pneumatic hammers, hydraulic equipment, specialised dollies and anvils, and precision measuring instruments
• Cutting out damaged or broken panels and repairing or replacing with new panels
• Applying fillers on depressed areas and applying finishings on surfaces
• Working with a range of panel materials, including steel and aluminium panels
• Working with a range of vehicles, including custom models or vintage models
• Observing all OHS rules and regulations

About you

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair, or equivalent qualification, or otherwise 3 years of relevant panel-beater experience
• At least 2-3 years of relevant panel beating experience
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of traditional panel beating techniques
• Holding relevant OHS certificate or demonstrate strong understanding of OHS obligations
• Passion for panel beating and automotive welding work
