Job summary

Bendigo Health Care Group is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to support palliative care volunteers and broader portfolios across the organisation. The role offers flexibility with up to 1.2 FTE and a minimum of 0.6 FTE, enabling three days per week for some applicants.

You will train, mentor and coordinate volunteers while advancing innovative volunteer programs. Based in Bendigo, the role reports to the Director - Volunteer Services.

Qualifications

• Ongoing commitment to coordinating volunteers in a health service.
• Ability to train, support and develop volunteers in palliative care.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the palliative care volunteer portfolio (four days per fortnight).
• Support volunteers across acute, sub-acute, aged care or community care portfolios.
• Provide guidance to volunteers dealing with emotional challenges or grief.
• Contribute to development of new and existing palliative care volunteer programs.
• Collaborate with Director, Volunteer Services to implement volunteer marketing and recruitment strategies.
