St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Staff Specialist in Palliative Care Medicine for a temporary period from January 2027 to June 2027. The role is 0.5 FTE (half-time) and falls under the NSW Staff Specialist Award.

The department emphasises compassionate, high-quality care in an academic teaching hospital setting, with opportunities for postgraduate education and research involvement.

Qualifications

• Eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians – Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine or equivalent.
• Demonstrated high standards of clinical practice in Palliative Medicine.
• Commitment to teaching at multiple training levels.
• Experience in clinical service planning and cost-effective care.
• Active involvement in research and clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical palliative care services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead and participate in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Engage in teaching and supervision of registrar, junior medical staff and nursing teams.
• Contribute to clinical service planning and innovation in care delivery.
