Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited is seeking a Community Development Worker to implement community development approaches to care at Hummingbird House and link families with local resources within a development framework.

You will collaborate with children, families and communities to develop and deliver evidence-based services, engage schools and health providers, and promote inclusive communities for those living with serious illness, on a fixed-term basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to listen to stories and identify local resources.
• Proficiency in developing, delivering and evaluating community-based initiatives for children, families and communities.
• Confidence in communicating personal and community development frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of evidence-based community-focused services.
• Support stronger and more resilient families and communities using ecological approaches.
• Collaborate with local communities to create welcoming and inclusive environments for those living with serious illness.
• Maintain liaison with key community groups and health providers.
• Engage with schools and communities to identify and prioritise needs.
• Support implementation of community-focused orientation across practices at Hummingbird House.
